Despite the great enjoyment I get from the sporting world, I always return to that abiding love for natural history in general which enthralled me so much as a boy. Exciting though they maybe, I would soon become stale if I only ever painted the traditional gamut of sporting species, thereby denying myself the opportunity to enjoy birds and animals more generally.
